This ceiling painting in the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles glorifies “The Sun King” Louis XIV. Nothing says power and glory like bolts of lightening! For other interpretations of zigzag, go here!
For this week’s challenge, share with us your own take on zigging and zagging. It can be a winding path, the Herringbone pattern on your coat, a scar: any jagged line that tells a story.
Very clever entry for this week’s challenge! ~SueBee

Thank you Sue! There aren’t many zigzags in my archive.

I know what you mean… I’ve been racking my feeble brain. Can’t think of a one!

Louis amidst the gods. How very clever! 😀

I think if you ask Louis, he’s higher than the gods also.

It’s a beautiful painting but the zig zags of lightning seem to have rounded corners…(not sure how else to put that!) 🙂

They do, don’t they! Perhaps when seen from floor level, the rounding makes the lightening seem more natural? Or, perhaps the point of the lightening is to draw attention to the hand of the glorious King, where the next incipient bolt is waiting to be cast? I don’t know. What strikes me is the audacity of the Sun King himself! Really? You think you’re the Sun King???

Thank you Susan. Zigzags are not so easy (for me) to find.
