How fortunate I am that there are woods so close to home.
“There is no point in hurrying because you are not actually going anywhere. However far or long you plod, you are always in the same place: in the woods.”
― Bill Bryson, A Walk in the Woods
I love Bill Bryson too, especially “Neither Here Nor There”. I listened to the audiobook on a drive to San Francisco. It was so funny I nearly drove off the road.
So beautiful, I love the scattering of yellow leaves! I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t take a walk through the woods now and then..I feel very fortunate too.
Lovely.

They welcomed us at the door, and gave us the run of the place. Nice.

Thanks Sue. I’m always surprised to discover a nice nature area with so few people in it. A real treat. (Chantry Flats)

Looks like a great place for walks. I love the Bryson quote and many of his books. His sense of humor is marvelous.

It was quite a hike down to the stream bed, and then back up again, but well worth the effort.
