Last leg of the zipline tour of the Monteverde Cloud Forest canopy in Costa Rica. The target is the tiny orange flag. Glad I did it, but don’t want to ever do it again.

I can think of a few things I’ve gladly done that I wouldn’t want to repeat. What an adventure, but I can understand the ‘once is enough’ feeling, too.

I REALLY wanted to do the zipline thing. There were many legs to the zipline, and this last one was extremely high and extremely long.

Aren’t you brave! I am afraid of heights, so zip-lining is out of the question!

Brave? No. Just wanted the adventure and novel experience. Zipline and escargot both are now checked off my bucket list, never to return!

That’s a descent if ever there was one! Also on my list, but I don’t know that I’ll ever get around to it. Great photo, and I’m sure a very memorable experience!!

Was the thrill all worth it?
I keep wondering, plus all that beauty you’re surrounded with, are the reasons I think zip lining would still be on my
“to-do list ” …Spectacular shot!

Yes the thrill was worth it. For me the fear wasn’t in falling, it was in stopping before I crashed into the giant tree that the giant cable is tied to! They start you out on a low (twenty feet) and short run, and as the trek goes on the runs get longer and WAY higher. The beauty of Costa Rica is unmatched in my experience. I tell everyone that the rain forest (as opposed to the cloud forest) is like the movie Avatar.

I have so many photographs from that trip — Costa Rica magical in its beauty. As you say, though, beauty is everywhere. We’re surrounded by it if only we look.
