Salton Sea

20160130_140910_edited-1Today I visited family out at the Salton Sea. I like the light here.

The Salton Sea is a shallow, saline, endorheic rift lake located directly on the San Andreas Fault. [Wikipedia]

    1. I agree Karen – it’s the kind of scene I’d enjoy looking at if I were pinned to the chair in my dentist’s office. Or better yet, just printed large & hanging on the wall of my study. 😉

    1. Thank Chris. There are many opportunities here to explore photographically, but it’s a place best visited in winter. It’s below sea level and in the midst of desert. When I left yesterday evening after sunset, it was a pleasant 71F outside.

    1. Thanks Eliza.
I think the fault would slip, not open, but I was thinking about that myself. I was wondering whether there would be a mega-wave on the lake if there’s an earthquake. I bet it would slosh around and sweep over the houses on the shore!
