Today is the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. He championed the cause of the oppressed in the United States. Archbishop Oscar Romero championed the cause of the oppressed in El Salvador. Deitrich Bonhoeffer was a Lutheran pastor who opposed the Nazi state.

Indeed, Karen. There is an national holiday in his honor, as it should be. We in the U.S. have some considerable distance to reach the example he set for brotherhood, non-violence and courage.
