Thank you Gunta. It was taken not far from my home, so when I get to stand on a small hill, this is what I see. This is my first image that has been played with in any way — I took the highlights all the way up — that’s the only change.
Wow, what a landscape – I can feel the buzz just looking at it! (Such a contrast from what I live in.)
I like the sandwiched layers of trees, man-made structures, then ocean and sky.
Thanks Eliza! You can see why I look so wistfully at images of your landscape. I think you’ve appreciated in the layers what it is about L.A. that draws so many people: the electricity, the ocean, and the little bits of nature (from where the photo’s taken).
I snooped through the Pasadena Audubon’s website, looking for nearby bird watching sites (which I figured might be nature-ish?) Anyway, I found “The Cobb Estate” in Altadena. This shot was taken from near the entrance. Check it out – there are lots of opportunities here —- http://www.pasadenaaudubon.org/?q=birdmap
Intriguing shot.

I like the glow you’ve created. As Eliza put it… you can see the buzz that is LA. Very unique and interesting shot.

Thank you! I felt the same way — nice to get some positive feedback for my little experiment.

it’s like when the spaceship
released a mega ray
and the city bloomed,
glowing until it’s flash faded 🙂

Oooh, it is like that, isn’t it? The opening of a short story. Apocalyptic, or transformative?

Really cool shot. Where were you standing? Would ponder that longer, but must rush off to work (rats!) ~SueBee
