California wildflowers The golden flowers are California Poppies, the state flower. We were driving from Los Angeles north on highway 101 to San Luis Obispo, and pulled off the road in Los Alamos, near Vandenburg Air Force Base. Right you are! I revisited the same empty lot much later, and there was nothing there but mud and truck tire tracks and miscellaneous debris. LikeLike Reply
