Imagine this…
You live next door to a policeman. A neighbor tells you that the policeman enters your house while you’re at work. You check your nanny-cam. He rifles through your mail. He opens your computer and sees what Google searches you have been doing. He checks your email. Somehow he doesn’t need a password. You confront the policeman. He assures you that this is not about you; it is about the fight against terrorism that kept you safe today, and yesterday, and will keep you safe tomorrow. Nothing to worry about if you’ve done nothing wrong.
Remember this…
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. 4th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution
Today is the day we fight back against the U.S. government’s National Security Agency surveillance.
-
The USA FREEDOM ACT is proposed legislation that will help (but not solve) NSA surveillance abuse. (read about it here)
-
The FISA IMPROVEMENT ACT is proposed legislation that will whitewash and legitimize the NSA’s mass surveillance activities. (read about it here)
